Here are two finish pieces, whic I made using styrafoam stamps. These were done on Fabriano watercolor block. First piece is called Connexions!, and the second Curious! ,which sold in my Etsy
Here's a new project for you to try out . It's very inexpensive, creative, and environmentally friendly
Materials: Styrofoam container (the one's your packaged veggies come in from the grocery stores) Aleene's Tacky Glue (Here a soft gel or Heavy Gel Medium would work well also) Unmounted linoleum Glue stick Scissors (For carving, and cutting shapes)
Tips: ~Use blunt end of scissors for creating shapes on the styrofoam(or any blunt object) ~Save the side parts of the styrofoam. Cut them in various shapes, circles, rectangles and mount on' unmounted linoleum' purchase at any art store. Very inexpensive. I like the harder linoleum for this. ~For more durability surround your stamps with a soft gel medium. ~Cut shapes in the styrofoam and seal edges with soft gel medium
I saw a demo on 'metal aluminium sheet'. When you purchase them it has a protective sheet, and when remove it will stick wherever you place it. Well..I had an idea the other day by using the foil cover on a Yogurt container. I liked the recyling and artistic appeal of this and tried it. I haven't tried it with the store bought aluminium; but that is another experiment;-) The yogurt top I used was from 650 gram Organics Yogurt which I purchased from Safeway. It is sealed with a circular foil, and that is what I use. After I remove it , I wash it, dry...then it's ready to use.
MATERIALS:
Circular foil from Organics Yogurt container Indian wooden blocks(or anything that will emboss) Adirondack alcohol inks of various colors, Alcohol ink applicator (can be purchased at Michaels) Stump Heavy Gel Medium ..it works wonder!
METHOD:
Place circular foil above surface to be embossed Use your stump and lighthly rub until you are satisfied with result Then use alcohol adirondack inks..(a few drop on Alcohol ink applicator) Than smoosh..(circular movement on embossed surfaced) Voila..
I discovered that Heavy Gel Medium or Extra Heavy gel medium will glue the foil very well
Enjoy and most of all have fun Let me see some of your work, and post it here;-)
**NOTE**In the original message I suggested double sided tape; but I came with a better solution Heavy Gel Medium or Extra heavy gel works better, and less fussing with the double side tape.;-)

Art is like a meditation.I enter a world, where I'm having an intimate moment with my inner process.
I don't have an objective or an end result for my painting, unless I'm doing a commission work.
I will normally adjust to a customer request in terms of what they are wanting in their painting; but with a stylized and whimsical style.
I will communicate with them, and get to know them better, so I can mull over an idea, and bring it all together for the requested commission.
Enjoy my blog, and if you have any questions about my art, please feel free to drop me a message
